Printed Ephemera
Envelope
This embossed paper envelope is addressed to 'Master Seaton' of Summers Place, Hyde Park and stamped with a Penny Red stamp. The red stamp cost one penny and was part of the reformed postal service which standardised postal costs. The envelope's patterned texture suggests it was used to send a greetings of valentine's card.
