Mechanical toy clowns
Pair of lithographed tinplate flywheel-drive toy clowns. Comprising one clown standing on two disc wheels with a central lead fly wheel in red and yellow striped outfit holding the feet of a a second clown in the wheelbarrow position holding a disc wheel and dressed in a blue tailcoat with yellow facings and red and blue chequered trousers. The toy also acts as a candy container. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 15th December 1903.
