Pistol, flintlock holster pistol
This flintlock holster pistol was made by James Barbar, a prosperous London gunsmith with a royal and aristocratic clientele. Barbar was appointed Gentleman Armourer to George II in 1741 and Master of the Gunmakers' Company the following year. He also worked as a furbisher at Hampton Court.
