Ventriloquist's dummy
This ventriloquist's dummy named 'Old Hewitt' was used by the music hall performer and artist Walter Lambert. On stage Lambert used the female persona 'Lydia Dreams'. Lambert created his own dummies and mechanical figures. He also painted the large canvas 'Popularity' which depicts the stars of Edwardian music hall. This painting is also in the collection of the Museum of London.
