A menu for Crosby Hall restaurant on Bishopsgate from 1907 giving notice of the Hall's closure on 31 July 1907 due to a business transfer to the Ship & Turtle on Leadenhall Street from 1 August 1907. The front cover incorporates interior and exterior photographic images of Crosby Hall and gives notice of the closure in red ink. Inside, the a fully priced food menu is printed in black ink and further information regarding the business relocation is printed in red. On the reverse is a full drinks menu.
Some of the food available includes a 'Thick Mock Turtle' soup, a main of 'Mutton Croquettes and Poivrade Sauce', a joint of 'Roast Ham a la Crosby' and sweets of 'Cold Semolina Pudding' and 'Stewed Greengages and Custard'.
After the restaurants closure Crosby Hall was bought in 1909 by the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China whose intention was to build new offices on the site. In order to preserve the Hall the bank paid for it to be dismantled, numbered and stored. Later, between 1909 and 1910, it was re-erected in Chelsea as part of the buildings of the British Federation of University Women.
