The Anglo-American Exposition at White City, 1914
Poster promoting the Anglo-American Exhibition, held at White City, 1914.
Designed by the artist W.H. Barribal (active 1907-25) the poster shows the linking of the British Union Jack with the Stars and Stripes of the American flag, symbolising the close relationship between the two nations. Attractions at the exhibition included an enormous scale-model of the newly opened Panama canal.
