Poster promoting the Imperial International Exhibition, held at White City in 1909. This poster was specifically published to announce the 'half-season ticket' offer and shows crowds of visitors attending the exhibition. The combination of exhibition pavilions, reconstructions and funfair rides made White City one of London's foremost visitor attractions. As a private enterprise, however, it constantly needed to attract new and repeat visitors to cover the huge costs of mounting a new exhibition annually.
