Printed Ephemera — 1951
The Festival and the Commonwealth
Leaflet promoting 'The Festival and the Commonwealth' exhibitions shown at the Imperial Institute, South Kensington for the Festival of Britain, 1951. One was a permament exhibition about life in the British Colonies, and another was a touring exhibition called 'Focus on Colonial Progress'. The third displayed traditional sculpture from the colonies and former colonies. This encouraged visitors not to judge the works by European standards according to whether they were lifelike.
