£500 New Play Competition
Leaflet publicising a competition held in 1950 for a new play to be written for the Festival of Britain. The competition aimed to encourage new British playwrights. It offered a prize of £500 in advance royalties and a guaranteed performance at the independent Arts Theatre. The judges were Christopher Fry, Peter Ustinov, and one of the Theatre managers, Alec Clunes.
