Menu
A menu card for New Years Eve at the Langham Hotel 1936-1937. Printed on cream card, the menu is bound with red ribbon tied in a bow and features on the front cover an illustration of a Regency gentleman holding a filled glass. Below is a verse which reads 'If I could wish for all the wishes, Which I wish could all come true, You would have to wish for nothing, Since I'd wish them all for you:" Inside is printed the dinner menu.
Guests were to be served an eight course meal consisting of 'Les Perles de Whitstable', 'Le Canape de Cavier'; 'La Tortue Verte au Xeres', 'La Creme d'Artichaut'; 'La Quenelle de Brochet Royale'; 'Le Medaillon de Ris de Veau Pompadour', 'La Pomme Bouton d'Or'; L'Asperge Fraiche, Sauce Creme'; 'Le Sorbet au Champagne'; 'La Supreme de Perdreau aux Truffes', 'La Salade des Capucins'; 'Le Souffle Glace Cleopatre', 'La Corbeille de Bonheur'; 'Les Fruits Frais'.
