Welcoming the East into West Central London

Ten page illustrated booklet entitled 'Welcoming the East to West Central London' dealing with Chinese and Bengali housing problems, published by the London Borough of Camden, 1980. It concerns Bengali immigration from Sylhet and Chinese immigration from Hong Kong and the New Territories. The booklet is illustrated with a photograph of Patricia Quaife (Race Relations Advisor), Bobby Chatterjee (Bengali Housing Advisor) and Ronald Hung (Chinese Housing Advisor). Camden Council appointed a Bengali and a Chinese Housing Officer to work with the growing number of migrants from these communities, aiming to encourage those living in substandard accommodation to register for council housing.
