Replica, idol
A replica of the Dagenham Idol, made of polyester resin with colour medium included in the resin. Made in 1975 by Arthur Trotman, Principle Conservation Officer, Museum of London. The original, in Colchester Musem, is a crude standing, armless naked figure, carved from a single piece of Scot's pine (Pinus sylvestris). It has been radiocarbon dated to 2459 - 2110 BC.
