Printed Ephemera — 1950-1959
Leaflet
E.M.I. (Electric and Musical Industries) issued this illustrated promotional leaflet in the 1950s. It advertises high-quality 'sound reproduction' equipment for schools.
The beginnings of E.M.I. can be traced back to 1897 when it was founded as The Gramophone Company. In 1899 the London-based company adopted the 'His Master's Voice' trade name. By 1931, E.M.I. had opened the world's first purpose-built recording studio in North London at 3 Abbey Road.
