Court order
This court order was issued by the Public Office, Bow Street to the Keeper of Newgate requesting that the prisoner William Webb be brought before the Sitting Magistrate to be bailed. It is dated 9 November 1811.
The order is part printed with handwritten details and includes the words 'The above named William Webb was bailed before me and discharged'. On the reverse side are further handwritten details of Webb's crime of harbouring French prisoners of war in his home and helping them to escape back to France.
