Decorative arts — 18th century
Plate sherds
This tea bowl was found on the site of Temple House 177 Cannon Street. The Excavation Day Notebooks refer to a line of squared wooden piles running just north of Budge Row, roughly in line with Watling Street, but as these probably formed part of a complex of posts their alignment may not signify much. Most of the material recovered was of Roman date, including part of a metalled Roman road, an amphora handle and a 1st century coin hoard.
