Printed Ephemera — 1908
Programme
A programme of a luncheon held at the Guildhall by the Corporation of London in honour of the visit of the King and Queen of Sweden on 18 November 1908. Bound with blue and yellow ribbon, the programme cover decoration incorporates three black and white photographic images of Guildhall Yard, Windsor Castle and possible the Swedish Royal Palace. Inside is outlined the meal to be served.
Included in the seven course meal was a fish course of 'Filets de Soles en Aspic a la Reine', 'Barons of Beef' and 'Salad' for main, and 'Meringues a la Creme' and 'Savarin a Fredrica' as two of the four sweet dishes.
For this visit to England the Swedish majesties arrived at Spithead by boat. They were greeted by the Prince of Wales who then escorted them to Windsor to meet with King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra.
