The Suffragette
Emergency reduced edition of The Suffragette newspaper, 2nd May 1913. The headline 'RAIDED!!' refers to the raid at the Women's Social and Political Union headquarters at Lincoln's Inn House on 30th April. During the raid the heads of WSPU departments, Harriet Kerr, Beatrice Saunders, Rachel Barrett, Geraldine Lennox and Alice Lake were arrested and charged with conspiracy to cause wilful damage to property. At the time of the raid the office were setting the type for the next issue of the Suffragette newspaper and this was confiscated along with other documents and papers.
