Calculating machine
This ANITA Calculating Machine Mk 8 was the world’s first commercial electronic desktop calculator, developed by the Bell Punch Company’s scientists at Uxbridge. The ANITA ( "A New Inspiration to Accounting" ) Mk 8 was launched in Britain at the 1961 Business Efficiency Exhibition in London and was a run-away success. Although standard office equipment in the early 1960s, it was out of date within 10 years, replaced by less bulky pocket calculators.
