Cartoon drawn by Clara (Betty) Giveen whilst in Winson Green Prison, Birmingham in 1912. The black-and-white cartoon shows a prison warder standing amongst puddles produced by 3 women prisoners showering behind three cubicle doors. At the side is written 'Bathing. who would be a bathing woman, In this gaol of Winson Green. Where the Suffragettes do clamour and endeavour to keep clean. For there's very muddy water in those baths behind the screen'.
