The London Gazette
Broadsheet newspaper, 'The London Gazette', from 11-15 November 1703, printed by the celebrated London printer Edward Jones in the Savoy. The London Gazette was an official journal of the British Goverment where certain statutory notices were published. This issue includes an advert for the services of 'Mr. William Read, the Approved Occulist, as appears by his daily Success in restoring the Blind to their Sight, not only by the Couching of Cataracts, but all other Curable Distempers relating to the Opticks'.
