Pass to the work area for the Coronation of George IV
Printed card marked with the Royal crest and the wording 'Coronation pass and Repass During the Progress of the Works in Westminster Hall, Abbey &c. No. His Majesty's Office of Works 1820 Surveyor-General. The card has handwritten annotations - 1820 has been changed to 1821, '25' has been written beside the number, 'No money to be given' is marked on the side and the recipients name is also written on the card (barely readable). The back of the card has handwritten markings 'J Mitchells Vote office entrance at Poet's Corner Westminster Abbey and at the South door of Westminster Hall'. The pass has a red wax seal. This object relates to the preparation of Westminster Hall and Abbey for the Coronation of King George IV in 1821.
