Printed Ephemera — 1910
Scenic Railway, Japan-British Exhibition
Mounted colour postcard showing a view of the 'Scenic Railway' at the Japan-British Exhibition, 1910. The scenic railway was a permanent attraction at White City and featured in all the exhibitions from 1908. Themed initially to represent the landscape and scenery of Canada and the United States, the railway was over a mile long. Fast-moving trains transported visitors past lakes and rivers, up and down the Rocky Mountains and through deep valleys and caves.
