In the Japanese Gardens, Japan-British Exhibition, London, 1910
Colour postcard showing a view of the Japanese Gardens' at White City. For the Japan-British exhibition of 1910, Japanese gardens were planted throughout White City. These included The Garden of Peace, the Garden of the Floating Island and two miniature gardens sent over to London from Tokyo. At dusk, coloured electric Japanese lamps illuminated the gardens.
This 'giant' postcard was one in a series produced by Valentine & Sons, official postcard printers for the White City exhibitions.
