Indian Warriors as they Perform at the Theatre Royal English Opera
Uncoloured, engraved theatrical portrait sheet entitled 'Indian Warriors as they perform at the Theatre Royal English Opera'. The engraving shows two warriors named 'Sta-eute' & 'Uc-tan-goh' and is signed 'drawn & etched by W.West'. Published June 22 1818.
In June 1818 a group of seven Native American performers appeared in a ballet at the Theatre Royal. The group would later perform in two comic operas with T.P. Cooke, for a run of 66 nights. Their names were Senungogis; Ne-gui-cet-twassane; Uc-tau-goh; Se-guos-ken-ace; Sta-eute; Ne-gun-ne-an-goh and Te-ki-cue-doga.
