Downfall of the Rotten Borough Mongers Great Duel
Printed handbill with the heading 'Downfall of the Rotten borough Mongers Great Duel between the Hunter down of corruption and desparate Gang of Boroughmongers and corruption flooed being closely hunted.' The The bill refers to the Reform Act of 1836. The 'hunter-down of corruption' was the radical politician, Henry 'Orator' Hunt. The 'noted rat-catcher' referred to Conservative Home Secretary and later Prime Minister Robert Peel, who opposed the Reform Bill.
