A crowd outside Holloway jail awaits the release of Suffragette prisoners, 1907
A crowd outside Holloway jail awaits the release of Suffragette prisoners, 1907. Released Suffragette prisoners were greeted by a delegation of fellow Suffragettes and transported in triumph to central London for 'welcome' home receptions. As can be seen in the photograph the 'welcome' delegations also attracted passers-by fascinated by the spectacle.
