The Suffragette Leader Emmeline Pankhurst Detained at Ellis Island, New York harbour, October 1913
The Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst detained at Ellis Island having arrived in the USA for a fundraising lecture tour, October 1913. On her arrival in the USA Emmeline Pankhurst was barred from entering New York harbour by American immigration officials and detained for several days at Ellis Island.
