Womens Social and Political Union march, 20 September 1912. The march was organised 'To uphold and to honour 2 brave comrades, Mrs Mary Leigh and Mrs Gladys Evans who hungerstruck 44 days for the vote in Mountjoy Prison'. The photograph shows Suffragettes leaving King's Cross for Tower Hill with many carrying black flags as a protest against forcible feeding.
