Borough of Hampstead, King's Dinner. Saturday, July 5th, 1902
Printed menu for the King's Dinner held by the Borough of Hampstead on Saturday 5 July 1902 to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII. The Dinner was hosted at the Town Hall.
On the front is a printed portrait of King Edward VII and, underneath, the words to 'God Save the King' in full. On the reverse is a detailed programme of music, split into two sections with the cache that 'This programme is subject to slight alteration'. Some of the music to be enjoyed during the event included the song 'Ma curly-headed Babby', an untitled musical sketch, the duet 'The Battle Eve' and a Quartet performance of 'Playing on de ole Banjo'.
Hampstead became a Metropolitan borough in 1900 and remained so until 1965 when it was merged with St Pancras and Holborn into the London Borough of Camden.
