Printed Ephemera — 1920
Crystal Palace - programme
The Imperial War Museum and the Great Victory Exhibition was held at Crystal Palace from June to October 1920. It was organised to commemorate the end of World War I. The event included displays of entertainment with a largely military theme.
This pamphlet lists the musical programmes planned for 19-24 July. They included organ recitals and band performances by Her Majesty's Scottish and Welsh Guards. The palace was divided into sections to house various military exhibitions. The Navy, RAF and women's sections were in the South Nave, the army exhibition in the North Nave and the oil section in the Canada Building.
The programming for a firework display by C T Brock & Co's Crystal Palace Fireworks Ltd is also recorded in detail. An extravaganza of 40 fireworks was due to begin at dusk on the Thursday, including a special display of 'Victory Roman Candles'.
