Printed Ephemera — 1909
Rebellion To Tyrants is Obedience to God
Christmas postcard printed with a verse and seasonal greetings for the year 1910 from the Suffragette Minnie Turner. Printed with a purple border the card refers to the purple, white and green colour scheme of the Women's Social and Political Union and carries an uplifting message to Suffragettes for the coming year to continue the fight for justice.
The Suffragette Minnie Turner was a member of the Tax Resistance League. She ran her home at Sea View, Victoria Road, Brighton as a boarding house specifically aimed at Suffragettes. Advertising in suffrage newspapers such as Votes for Women she urged ‘Suffragettes spend your holidays in Brighton, central. Terms moderate.’
