Suffragettes Gathered at Hyde Park for the speeches on 'Women's Sunday' 21st June 1908
Suffragettes gathered at Hyde Park for the speeches on 'Women's Sunday' 21st June 1908. The image depicts the scene around platform 5, one of twenty platforms erected in the Park from which the Suffragette leaders delivered rousing speeches. Probably one of the most popular platforms, Platform 5 was 'headlined' by a speech from Emmeline Pankhurst. Here can be seen another speaker Mrs Hurst and Elizabeth Wolstenholme-Elmy.
