The Suffragette Defies the Tyrant Man
'The Suffragette Defies the Tyrant Man'. One in a series of commercial postcards produced by Tuck and Sons that satirises the suffragette movement. Here the female suffragette, who is excluded from joining the police service, is depicted as small and insignificant in comparison to the male policeman who plays a key role in public life and society in 'discharging the ultimate obligations of citizenship'.
