Greetings postcard stamped 'Votes for Women' in yellow, published by the Stewart Publishing Company, New York from 1913.
The postcard addressed to Minnie Turner and postmarked Brighton November 30th 1914 refers to a proposed visit planned by the sender to Minnie in Brighton. The recipient Minnie Turner was a member of the Tax Resistance League. She ran her home at Sea View, Victoria Road, Brighton as a boarding house specifically aimed at Suffragettes. Advertising in suffrage newspapers such as Votes for Women she urged ‘Suffragettes spend your holidays in Brighton, central. Terms moderate.’
