Postcard, photographic postcard

Postcard with sepia toned photograph taken in a garden of a seated woman flanked by two younger women who are standing. Handwritten on the back is 'Janet Stutchbury, Mrs ", Lidia ", later became Janet Adams' and 'Followers of the WFL. The two daughters selling the Vote and their mother giving her front room for gatherings and meetings - also great friends of Doctor Knight.'
These women must have been members of militant suffragette organisation the Women's Freedom League, whose newspaper was called 'The Vote'.
Dr. Elizabeth Knight was a medical doctor and by 1913 was honorary treasurer of the WFL. She was imprisoned on several occasions for her suffragette activities and in 1908 wrote 'Social and Sanitary Conditions of Prison Life'.
