Postcard, photographic postcard
Postcard with photograph looking down on the Women's Coronation Procession. At the front walks a woman carrying a flag. She is followed by Marjorie Annan Bryce, on horseback dressed as Joan of Arc, patron saint of the suffragettes.
The Women's Coronation procession was organised by 28 suffrage societies, including the Women's Social and Political Union, on 17 June 1911. Held a week before the coronation of George V, it aimed to enlist the support of the new King in getting the Conciliation Bill in favour of female suffrage through parliament.
