Printed Ephemera — 1911
W.S.P.U. Advertising Dept.
The advertising and book-keeping staff at work in the advertising department, Women's Social and Political Union Headquarters Clement's Inn, September 1911. Editorials in Votes for Women urged readers to patronize firms and individuals who took advertising space in the newspaper. It was anticipated that if advertisers gained business from the suffragettes it would encourage them to take yet more space thus raising further funds for the WSPU.
