Manning studied at Royal Holloway College between 1901 and 1905. She was imprisoned for her suffragette activities in Holloway Gaol from October 29-November 28, 1908. Manning's married name was Hatch-Anderson-Pelham, and her husband left a bequest for an annual Edmée Manning Award, to go to a student in the English department. He also requested that a red rose be placed in the College Chapel on 22 June every year, on Edmeé Manning's birthday.
