Photograph of Suffragette Gertrude Eaton
Photograph of Gertrude Eaton holding a case of cutlery. Easton, who lived in Kensington, was Honorary secretary of the Prison Reform Committee and was a member of the Tax Resistance League. Eaton is mentioned in suffragette publication 'The Vote' as having her household silver seized and auctioned in July 1911 for non-payment of taxes. Eaton was known for her public speaking and even gave lessons to women wanting to improve their skills.
