Billhead, invoice
Copper-engraved billhead with handwritten invoice issued by the wholesale haberdashery firm of Cartwright, Morris, A. Bennett and C. Richardson located at Dyers Court, Aldermanbury. The handwritten invoice dated 12th June 1782 refers to the supply of goods including buttons to the county draper John Thomas & Company located at Hinckley, Leicestershire. Similarly to other county drapers J. Thomas and Co ordered cloth and haberdashery from London wholesalers. The firm went out of business in 1787.
