Printed Ephemera — 1951
The National Competitive Music Festival
Programme for the National Competitive Music Festival organised as part of the Festival of Britain, 1951. This event was arranged by the British Federation of Music Festivals, and included a choral competition. The composer, Vaughan Williams, president of the Federation, composed three new songs as test pieces for the competition. These were first performed at the Royal Festival Hall on 23 June 1951.
