Printed Ephemera — 1951
Growth and form
Handbill for an exhibition called 'Growth and Form' held at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in Dover Street, Westminster, for the Festival of Britain, 1951. The exhibition was conceived by the artist Richard Hamilton as an attempt to bridge the arts and the sciences. It was inspired by the idea that shapes in nature are based on mathematical principes. This innovative show used a wide range of materials, including scientific models, diagrams, photographs and films.
