The Two Porters
Thomas Edmonds issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Lambeth, Surrey.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Surrey number 163; Obv inscription: THOMAS.EDMONDS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Two porters holding a hand-barrow, a third placing a sack on it (in field); Rev inscription: IN. LAMBETH. 1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
