Victoria and Albert Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum on the corner of Exhibition Road and Cromwell Road in South Kensington. Exhibition Road was named after the Great Exhibition of 1851 held in nearby Hyde Park. Following its success, the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 established several museums and colleges in South Kensington, such as the V&A and Imperial College.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
