Warwick Road, S.W.
Warwick Road runs between West Cromwell Road and Kensington High Street. On the right of this image is a gate marked 'Tradesmens' Entrance', the premises of R.S. Dampney, and a post and telegraph office with general store. A woman stands in front of the general store and to the left is a man on a ladder working on the canopy of a shop named F. Savage. At the end of the terrace of houses on the left is a telegraph pole.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
