Christ Church Lancaster Gate, W.
The exterior of Christ Church Lancaster Gate, built in 1854-55 by F. and H. Francis. The tower and spire were added in 1863. In 1977, the body of the church was demolished because it was suffering from fungal decay. The tower and spire survive, incorporated into a residential development called Spire House.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
