St John's Chapel, Pimlico
The centre of the otherwise dark interior glows with light from the windows in this image of. St John's Chapel in Pimlico Road. St. John's was a chapel of ease to St. Barnabas in Church Street, Pimlico. This means it was a church built to accommodate those living at a distance from the parish church of St. Barnabas.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
