Wellington Barracks
This image shows Wellington Barracks, built in 1833, with soldiers on the parade ground. Wellington Barracks, near to Buckingham Palace, is home to the Foot Guards Battalions on public duties in London, the Foot Guards bands, and is headquarters for all the Regiments.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
