Victoria Embankment
Victoria Embankment runs alongside the Thames from Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge. In this image, one boat can be seen on the river, and one carriage on the road. In the background are the silhouettes of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
