St Luke's Church, Chelsea
St. Luke’s Church was consecrated by the Bishop of London on St. Luke’s Day, 18th October 1824. It was one of the first Gothic Revival churches built in London. The interior layout, however, followed that of a traditional 18th preaching house, with an enormous pulpit, pews everywhere, and a small altar.
Christina Broom was a professional photographer who produced a series of London street views for sale as postcards. She later photographed the activities of the suffrage movement in London and is considered one of the earliest female press photographers.
